Los premios Golden Raspberry, mejor conocidos como “Razzies” o “anti-Oscars”, fueron creados por el escritor de cine John Wilson en 1981, a manera de crítica y burla de los Premios de la Academia. Dicho galardón reconoce lo peor en películas, actores, actrices, guionistas y directores de la industria cinematográfica en Estados Unidos. La entrega de los “Razzies” suele llevarse a cabo un día antes de la entrega de los premios Oscar; generalmente, los ganadores no se presentan en la ceremonia, sin embargo, celebridades como Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock y Tom Green han asistido al evento.
Su edición número 37, correspondiente a los estrenos de 2016, está por llevarse a cabo, y ya cuenta con la lista de nominados. En esta ocasión, los organizadores decidieron agregar más categorías, a manera de reconocimiento por “un año particularmente para el cine”.
