La industria del entretenimiento ha reaccionado ante la repentina muerte de la vocalista y guitarrista Dolores O’Riordan, quien alcanzó a fama a lo largo de los años 90 junto con The Cranberries. Ella tenía 46 años, se encontraba en Londres para trabajar dentro de un estudio de grabación y la causa de su fallecimiento sigue sin ser revelada.
Según la televisión estatal irlandesa, la cantante se contagió de una enfermedad al llegar a Inglaterra, razón por la cual su salud fue empeorando a lo largo de su estadía.
El publicista de la banda compartió el siguiente comunicado:
“La cantante irlandesa e internacional Dolores O’Riordan murió repentinamente en Londres esta mañana. Ella tenía 46 años de edad. La vocalista de la agrupación The Cranberries se encontraba en Londres para una sesión de grabación. No contamos con más detalles por el momento. Los miembros de la familia están devastados al escuchar las noticias y solicitan privacidad en este momento tan complicado.“
Mucha gente alrededor del mundo ha compartido este sentimiento de pérdida ante el fallecimiento de la cantante, incluyendo a varios artistas reconocidos y figuras públicas de relevancia como Amanda Palmer, Best Coast, Foster The People y Garage, entre otros.

My first time hearing Dolores O'Riordan's voice was unforgettable. It threw into question what a voice could sound like in that context of Rock. I'd never heard somebody use their instrument in that way. Shocked and saddened to hear of her passing, thoughts are with her family.
