Luego de un 2020 en el que la ceremonia tuvo que llevarse a cabo de manera remota dadas las condiciones establecidas por la COVID-19, este martes 13 julio la Academia de la Televisión de los Estados Unidos develó sus nominaciones para la entrega número 73 de los Emmys, prevista para realizarse el próximo 19 de septiembre del año en curso.

Muchas de las producciones ya asiduas a la gala tuvieron que frenar el rodaje de sus nuevas temporadas -Succession y Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, por mencionar algunas- lo que permite que series debutantes como Wandavision y Ted Lasso se perfilan para arrasar en sus respectivas categorías; mismo caso de The Crown misma que lidera la lista junto a The Mandalorian con 24 menciones y que desde hace varios años se ha convertido en la carta fuerte de Netflix para dominar toda terna en la que aparece.

Frank Scherma, presidente ejecutivo de la academia, declaró previo al anuncio que “ha sido un año extraordinario en el que la televisión ayudó a familias multigeneracionales a resistir los embates de la pandemia a través de programas llenos de amor y esperanza”. 

El evento fue  conducido por Ron Cephas Jones (This Is Us) y Jasmine Cephas Jones (Blindspotting) -padre e hija- y las nominaciones quedaron de la siguiente manera.
